Abstract

This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on contemporary mass media. It analyzes the primary directions in which media organizations employ artificial intelligence. On the one hand, it demonstrates how artificial intelligence facilitates the resolution of various tasks within the media industry, simplifying journalists' work and enabling them to devote more time to creative activities. On the other hand, it presents the challenges reflected in the quality of automatically generated content, the ethical dilemmas that arise, and issues of information reliability. The topic is examined in the article in accordance with contemporary approaches.


The relevance of the topic is determined by the accelerating development of technology. According to the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2024, 78% of digital editors consider that investment in artificial intelligence is vitally important for the media industry. The study of this topic is significant for analyzing the influence artificial intelligence will exert on the development of mass media and the standards it will establish for the media. At the same time, attention should be paid to the impact of technological innovation on audiences and on the formation of possible new forms of communication.
