Abstract

Contemporary global crises—including pandemics, climate disasters, humanitarian emergencies, and economic disruptions—pose increasingly complex challenges to governments, organizations, and societies. In this context, the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool for technological intervention in crisis management is gaining strategic relevance. This article explores the role of AI across the main phases of crisis management: early risk identification and prevention, response mechanisms, operational coordination, and post-crisis recovery. Drawing on international best practices, the study assesses the effectiveness of AI applications, identifies technological and ethical challenges, and examines governance-related considerations. The findings suggest that when properly integrated, artificial intelligence can serve not only as a mechanism for timely and effective crisis response, but also as a catalyst for long-term sustainable development.
